  • Being a small gym with a lot going on, we’re always excited to find crew members who can fill multiple roles. We’ve listed these positions separately, but many candidates may be able to contribute in more areas than one. Here are some of the other skills always in high demand:

    :: Graphic design
    :: Marketing
    :: Routesetting (actual experience or desire to gain it!)
    :: Coaching & instruction fok kids & youth
    :: Coaching & instruction for adults
    :: Personal training

  • Hours: 8-20 per week

    Shifts: (May vary!) 6-9am early morning, 4-11pm weekdays, weekend availability

    Starting Wage: $15+ depending on experience

    Start Date: May 2024

    Team members are, first and foremost, ambassadors for Coulee Climbing. Their actions are guided by the mission of creating an exceptional climbing experience for all customers, and fostering a positive, supportive climbing community. They work independently to assist customers, manage the experience of climbers in the gym, keep the space clean and welcoming, and attend to other issues as they arise. Climbing experience is a plus, enthusiasm for community and adventure are a must!

    Primary Duties

    :: Greeting, serving and assisting all customers
    :: Running till transactions, configuring customer profiles for memberships etc.
    :: Conducting gym orientations for new customers
    :: Setting up customer events and bookings
    :: Proactive and scheduled cleaning and maintenance
    :: Taking an active role in managing the climbing experience
    :: Answering phones and seeking solutions for call-in customers

    Additional Duties

    :: Stocking retail merchandise and gym supplies
    :: Facility care
    :: Watching for items requiring attention, dealing with those within your ability, reporting everything else to management
    :: Cleaning of incidental spills, leaks, messes etc.
    :: Snow & ice removal on sidewalks
    :: Assisting routesetters whenever possible
    :: Lead or assist youth beginner events and programs
    :: Preparing and serving hot drinks and concessions
    :: Staying familiar with the current set of boulders to help with making recommendations to those who might benefit

    Team members are expected to carry out any other reasonable duties that may arise or be assigned during the course of a shift.

    Personal Qualifications & Requirements

    :: Must be 18 or older, per Alberta labour requirements for solo shifts
    :: Availability to work on a reliable/steady schedule
    :: Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
    :: Experience cleaning
    :: Reliable transportation both to and from work for the designated shift times
    :: Strong interpersonal skills for communicating clearly and confidently with customers, management and other team members

  • Hours: 12-15 per week
    Shifts: 8:30am - 1:00pm, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday | July & August
    Starting Wage: $18+ depending on experience
    Start Date: May 21, 2024 (training)

    Camp Leads are responsible for helping to create a fun, engaging and safe experience for participants. They lead activities with a group of kids ages 5-7 for 3-4 hours. Activites include climbing, crafts, games etc.

    Primary Duties

    :: Working with other camp leads and helpers to build and implement daily schedules and activities
    :: Helping with check-in & check-out process
    :: Coordinating facility use with other camp groups
    :: Managing the camp experience for participants

    Requirements

    :: Experience working with young children (the more the better!)
    :: Age 18 or older

    Additional Assets & Skills (bonus, but not required)

    :: First aid
    :: Teaching or coaching experience

    Note that this is a new posiion for a new pogram! We’re excited to offer the camp experience to a younger group. The successful candidate will have the opportunty to help adapt our existing camp offering to this half-day format. While this position is only for July and August 2024, we hope to continue offering half-day camps throughout the school year on PD days and some holidays.

    Currently we are planning on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays for most weeks of July and August. The final schedule can be adapted to suit coach availability.

  • Hours: 8-12 per week
    Shifts: Monday evenings, Tuesday 8am-3pm
    Starting Wage: $18+ depending on experience
    Start Date: May 2024

    Experienced setters wanted! We’re looking for crew members who can hit the wall setting.

    Primary Duties
    :: Work alongside the setting crew to set amazing boulders under the direction of the head setter
    :: Assist with tear-down/preparation
    :: Produce quality work on a tight schedule

    Requirements
    ::
    Working with power tools from ladders
    :: Heavy lifting- bins, ladders etc upwards of 50 pounds
    :: 2+ years setting experience
