  • Being a small gym with a lot going on, we’re always excited to find crew members who can fill multiple roles. Many candidates may be able to contribute in areas not listed in the description. Here are some of the other skills always in high demand:

    :: Graphic design
    :: Marketing
    :: Routesetting (actual experience or desire to gain it!)
    :: Coaching & instruction fok kids & youth
    :: Coaching & instruction for adults
    :: Personal training

  • Hours: 6–15 per week

    Shifts: (May vary!) 6–9 AM early morning weekdays, occasional weekend availability & shift swaps

    Starting Wage: $15+ depending on experience

    Start Date: August 2025

    Team members are, first and foremost, ambassadors for Coulee Climbing. Their actions are guided by the mission of creating an exceptional climbing experience for all customers and fostering a positive, supportive climbing community. They work independently to assist customers, manage the experience of climbers in the gym, keep the space clean and welcoming, and attend to other issues as they arise. Climbing experience is a plus; enthusiasm for community and adventure are a must!

    Primary Duties

    :: Greeting, serving and assisting all customers
    :: Running till transactions, configuring customer profiles for memberships etc.
    :: Conducting gym orientations for new customers and groups
    :: Setting up customer events and bookings
    :: Proactive and scheduled cleaning and maintenance, including vacuuming, bathrooms, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, and more vacuuming
    :: Taking an active role in managing the climbing experience
    :: Answering phones and seeking solutions for call-in customers

    Additional Duties

    :: Stocking retail merchandise and gym supplies
    :: Facility care
    :: Watching for items requiring attention, dealing with those within your ability, reporting everything else to management
    :: Cleaning of incidental spills, leaks, messes etc.
    :: Snow & ice removal on sidewalks
    :: Assisting routesetters whenever possible
    :: Preparing and serving hot drinks and concessions
    :: Staying familiar with the current set of boulders to help with making recommendations to those who might benefit

    Team members are expected to carry out any other reasonable duties that may arise or be assigned during the course of a shift.

    Personal Qualifications & Requirements

    :: Must be 18 or older, per Alberta labour requirements for solo shifts
    :: Availability to work on a reliable/steady schedule, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends
    :: Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
    :: Experience cleaning and willingness to perform physical tasks such as lifting crash heavy bins, vacuuming, and mopping
    :: Reliable transportation both to and from work for the designated shift times
    :: Strong interpersonal skills for communicating clearly and confidently with customers, management and other team members
    :: Comfortable speaking to groups and maintaining safety rules during orientations and events
